There are many natural skin whitening methods, which are better than bleaching. The use of chemical bleaches has detrimental effects on the skin making it dry and dull. The skin loses its healthy texture and glow, becomes vulnerable to the signs of early ageing. Facial scrubs are quite useful for removing tan. Ingredients like saffron, cucumber, lemon, almonds, turmeric, yogurt, buttermilk, tomato, etc., help to lighten skin colour. These are certainly safer than chemical bleaches and actually benefit the skin in other ways. Ground almonds (badaam) make a good facial scrub.
